how much is that...
This dog is often sitting in the window watching the world outside. Somehow I never have my camera with me when s/he's there, though, and the one time I did, I messed up the white balance...

more homework
This week's theme is "things less than 18 inches off the ground". I like the photos for today and yesterday, plus maybe one of these (there are more here, too):
What do you think?

be nice to your laundry
This place used to have a sign that I liked better saying "mollycoddle your (something)", but they kind of ruined it by putting the definition of mollycoddle at the bottom. That sign is gone now, so I wonder if they decided it was too confusing, even though it's a cool word.

tempting
I keep walking past this pot and imagining how satisfyingly it would smash if I pushed it off its post...

door
(Reposted from my main blog)
I'm taking a photography class and the first assignment was to take photos of the front door. I'm kind of scared of taking photos along for everyone else to critique, especially since the teacher is kind of abrupt and intimidating. I also just took these photos in a hurry this morning, so I didn't put as much thought into it as I would've liked (I have my thesis committee meeting tomorrow, so this class is not my top priority right now).
So, which 3 photos should I print? These are my favourites, but there are some more variations on the same pictures here. If you have suggestions on what I should do differently, I'd be glad to hear them, too.

(I know this is a little blurry; I might try to retake it)
(I kind of like the underexposed version)

fall cleanup
Today, I went to a different campus to where I usually work. They'd been filming a movie there and were packing up as I arrived. I noticed someone raking up leaves and it took me a few moments to realise why that seemed odd. Apparently the movie is set in the fall, so they'd attached fake leaves to the trees.

clumsy bear chocolate
I went to a russian store today and bought some chocolates based on how cute the wrappers were. It seemed to work fairly well as a decision-making method.
